This remarkable new camera embodies a truly unique design concept and feature set aimed at
knowledgeable photographers who require a compact camera that delivers the classic Leica shooting experience. The LEICA D-LUX 4 incorporates a superb Leica f/2.0-2.8 DC Vario-Summicron ASPH high speed, extra-wide-angle 24-60mm equivalent zoom lens that’s ideal for shooting natural looking pictures in low light and is superb for travel, street photography, indoor shooting, and photojournalism. Its oversized 1/1.63- inch, 10.1-megapixel CCD image sensor delivers outstanding imaging performance and color accuracy, and its full range of manual control options puts experienced shooters in the driver’s seat.

Convenience features like Face Detection and Intelligent Auto mode that automatically selects the
shooting mode to suit the subject, make it easy enough for a beginner to use. An advanced Optical Image Stabilization system assures crisp imaging even at slow shutter speeds and in poor light. In keeping with its mission, the LEICA D-LUX 4 provides exceptional image quality even at high ISOs. ISO 400 can be used as a standard setting to take full advantage of its high speed lens.

Record in JPEG and RAW and offers different formats
As you would expect of a camera of this caliber, the LEICA D-LUX 4 can record lossless RAW files as well as JPEGs for maximum creative control in post-production, and its cutting-edge operating system assures virtually instant startup and shutter response. It offers a choice of 3:2, 4:3, and 16:9 formats, it can shoot stunning High Definition movies that can be viewed on an HDTV, and its big 3-inch, high-resolution Intelligent LCD automatically adjusts the brightness of the viewing image to the ambient light level. The dedicated hot shoe can accommodate accessory flash units including the compatibly compact Leica CF 22, or you can slide in the specially designed Leica brilliant 24mm bright-line accessory finder that lets you view and compose the subject in the traditional Leica manner without using any battery power. For RAW shooting, the camera is bundled with state-of-the-art Capture One 4 RAW data conversion software to ensure the best results.
